Cesarea, Mt Carmel and Haifa - Day 3

Started day three with a visit to Cesaerea.  King Herod the Great built this Roman outpost/harbor/palace before 10 BC.
Amazing architecture which was destroyed by the Byzantine empire and rebuilt. Many parts are still there.
You can still see Herod's swimming pool.  It is the square body of water in the foreground.  Much of the harbor has been reclaimed by the sea.

This is part of the bathhouse in one of the quarters. Made from marble it looks close to our modern day spas.  Oh what stories could be told about what happened here.

"Haifa was beautiful. It is Israel's seaport and major commerce. You can see the Lebanon border at the point in the far distance.  This is where the missles from Lebanon were aimed  in 2006.

And of course, I just had to throw in a selfie in front of this beautiful harbor.
